Our Story

We are a locally owned family business. We understand that no one wants to deal with junk but it sometimes becomes a necessity. We strive to make the process of reclaiming your living and storage space as easy as possible.

The owner, Bert, has been in the construction field for over 20 years. He is a two time Rutgers graduate with an MBA in finance and Supply Chain Management. His experience includes professionals roles at Nabisco, JP Morgan and Merrill Lynch. For some reason he likes junk - go figure.

We refer to it as junk but we realize that the items were someone’s prized possessions. With this in mind, we treat you and your belongings with respect by donating items that can be salvaged. Working hand in hand with Restore (Habitat for Humanity) provides a means to donate furniture to an organization that uses your possessions to help those in need.
We also care about the planet, so we make it a habit to recycle paper and cardboard, concrete and metal whenever possible.

Why Junk Removal?

Prior to this business I was doing kitchen and bath renovations. I found myself constantly being let down by sub-contractors. No matter how much I paid, no matter how much I managed, there were always issues. At the point where I was working 12-15 hour days, 7 days a week, I had to make a different route. For my family, my health and my sanity.
Junk removal provided a simpler, business model that didn't rely on specialized labor.
I am still building and there are long days but the level of stress has been significantly reduced. And weirdly....
                  I LOVE JUNK!!!
Background

I am originally from Texas, so you will always get a little southern charm when you deal with me. I studied Industrial Engineering in undergrad and was recruited by Nabisco in Fair Lawn, NJ out of college. I worked for Nabsico/Kraft for several years until I decided that I would pursue a career change to the business side.
I completed 2 degrees at Rutgers with a MBA in Supply Chain Management and Finance. After grad school I joined JP Morgan as a Corporate Finance hire.
All along I dabbled in construction. I have owned and renovated over 15 properties in Northern NJ.
